WEB GEMS- Top 8th: Marcus Giles robbed Ivan Rodriguez of a base hit.
Eric Munson ripped 4 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the red-hot Detroit Iron Gloves
beat the struggling London Hawk Lords by a score of 11 to 5.
Munson really 'lit it up' for Detroit. He delivered a solo blast in the 2nd
inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 4th inning, popped a two-run
clout over the fence in the 6th inning and cleared the fences for a two-run
home run (his 16th of the season) in the 8th inning. Detroit had many
opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.
Doug Davis(9-4) went 6 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Brian Shouse
earned the save, his 1st. Mike Wood(0-6) ended up with the loss. He was
touched for 5 homeruns in his 5 and 1/3 innings of work.
With the win, Detroit continued their winning ways; their streak now stands at
7 games and counting. Rob Danecker was very irritated after the contest.
'Just our luck to run into a team that's playing like a juggernaut right now.
I have to congratulate Mike Wilson on his team's recent performance. A very
impressive run.'
